Over the years, I've lost more chatterbaits to snags than any other lure, but I continue to throw them because of the size of bass I catch upon them. I've fished The regular chatterbait, the Elite chatterbait and the jackhammer, and for my experience, the elite is just as responsive as the jackhammer. Both caught fish but the Elite moves smoother than the Jackhammer when using a 3 inch trailer. As far as I am concerned, if you are going to have a chatterbait in your tackle box, it should be the Elite.Oh, helpful hint 934. Most chatterbaits get snagged when that hook impales wood under the water. Take the tip of any sinko or even a 1/2 inch grub lure and slide it over the end of the hook, just like you would skin hook a worm. I've maybe reduced my hookup percentage by 2% but I haven't had to replace a chatterbait since doing it.
